This is where I've been . . . .

Even though no one reads this blog, I'm just going to update my future self.
I haven't posted anything for over a year on this blog because I've been working on writing my very own (very first) full length, young adult, contemporary fantasy, novel! It has been a bumpy, and smooth ride, with continuous praying!
Right now I am about to start writing chapter 42, and I'm at 29,942 words, with approximately 100 pages so far. I really hope to finish by next spring! My goal: About 80,000 words, and 300 hundred pages. But most importantly, build the story, and have a satisfying ending!
When I first started it, last fall, I had no idea where it was going to go. It started out of no where. The key word that began this journey was, "different." Then the key paragraph that started the domino effect was, "I knew I was different. You're probably thinking that's just how everyone describes themselves as. Different. But I'm a different kind of different. A different different from your normal different."
And that was when it took flight. Well . . . sort of.
When I started it was just a thought, and I was making it up as I went along, not knowing whether or not it would get anywhere.
Actually, just recently I found out where it was going. I figured out a plot, and outlined my story vaguely.
Sense then, I've really fallen in love with it. The characters, the feelings, the plot. I want other people to love it too.
I might finish it next year, but the printing process is a whole other animal. Not to mention it costs money. A lot of money. And I don't have a solid job at the moment.
     But, let's worry about the technicalities later . . . .
I'm making this book because there are a lot of trash, young adult novels, and I want people to be able to enjoy reading books for their age, without having to think they need to hide it from their parents (Which, if you feel like that you probably shouldn't be reading the book.)
So, that's pretty much where I've been. And now, if you don't mind, my creation is calling me. :)
