Island Sweet Island 2
"You doing okay, Perry?" My dad asked from the wheel.
"I'm okaayyy......" I said, while curl up in the fetal position on the boats benches.
I couldn't take anymore of this. NO MORE.
I sat up, but only was knocked back down with a wave of dizziness.
I laid there, looking into the robin egg blue sky.
What was I thinking?
Why had I done that?
I thought back to the scene that only happened about a month and a haft ago.
I had gone in the middle of the night to New York City with my friend Emily to watch the Sound of Music play.
It was great. I felt independent.
But now when I think back to it, it was NOT a wise decision.
I guess I didn't really think about how long the play was actually.
It was about four hours long. Then after we got something to eat.
It all lasted seven hours.
Hour to get there, Hour play, Hour eating, and hour getting back.
By the time I got back it was seven o'clock in the morning.
Yeah, I did not think it through.
The police were waiting for me, and so was my furious mother.
She had waited an hour, but when I didn't show she called.
So I got a long lecture from a cop about how a 12-year-old shouldn't take a bus by herself to a big city with weird people in it.
Which, I do admit, there were some strange characters there.
But Emily knew her way around (don't ask me how) and so I wasn't too afraid.
But now. Here I was. In a small boat. On my way to an odd little island.
I knew though, that I deserved this.
Mom had thought up a great punishment, I had to give her that.

It felt like days, but we finally got to the island.
I could see it in the distance, rising above the water majestically.
I suddenly felt Excited butterflies in my stomach.
"There it is," Dad announced from the bow.
I nodded, a little speechless.
I didn't remember it being so beautiful.
after we tied the boat onto the dock that grandpa had made, I looked around at my surroundings.
The aqua blue water lapped onto the bright tan sand taking some with it, but leaving some shells behind.
The bright green palm trees and other exotic plants grew out of every corner of the island, making it look like a beautiful deserted island.
The only thing that showed civilization was a gorgeous house made of wood I have never seen before.
It had light swirly marks on it like it was painted, though it was totally natural.
The home was lifted about eight feet into the air to give it a tree house feeling.
It had a long ramp that lead into the house, to make it easy for an older couple to get into.
Speaking of older couple, grandma and grandpa were waiting on a alluring wrap around porch, that had potted plants hanging.
It all looked like something out of a resort brochure.
When I saw them on the porch I forgot all about how this was suppose to be a punishment.
I broke into a run, going across the soft sand, and up the ramp.
I embraced them tightly.
"I missed you," I said, surprising with my self at how much it was true.
"We did to," grandma whispered. "We have a lot to catch up on."
