Island Sweet Island

I could feel the dread seep into me as the idea came up.
No. I couldn't go for a whole summer to my grandparents house, on a little unknown island in the middle of the pacific ocean.
I hated water. And I hated being away from my family for more then a week.
And that far away? No way!
I knew my other siblings would be dying to go, but the answer was always the same.
"Perry needs some time to her self, to think over what she did."
I knew I would get a punishment for what I had done earlier that summer, but never had I thought it would be this bad.
Not saying I don't like my grandparents and stuff, I just hated where they lived.
You had to take a boat to get to them, and it took for ever.
Did I mention I hate water?
Yes, it was torture enough when we, Dad, Mom, Sandra, Sam, and I had gone a year ago to visit.
Yet, I was on the dreaded boat we went on last year.
"Do I seriously have to do this?" I asked mom, as she walked off the boat and settled near my sister and brother on the safe land.
"Honey, I think we all know it's necessary. And believe me when I say, it will be more like a vacation and less a punishment once you get used to it." She smiled brightly at me, and I felt like I was seeing her beautiful smile for the last time.
"If you say so........" I mutter, and turn my back on them.
"Are you all ready?" Dad asked from the wheel.
Everyone looked at me, as if expecting last words.
"Ready as I'll every be...." I said.
Ready as I'll every be to spend all summer with my grandparents in the middle of the ocean, with who knows what on the island.
